Stonehenge Outdoor Walkway Matting
Stonehenge is a site of great mystery that attracts visitors from all around the world. It is situated in a large field in the heart of the English countryside, which can cause some maintenance issues. During the summer months when attendance is at it’s highest soil erosion can kill the grass and deteriorate the ground below. During periods of heavy rain the ground can become boggy, which leads to certain pathways being closed. English Heritage who maintain the site contacted us for a simple solution that would be suitable all year round. From our years of outdoor surfacing experience, we knew that our RubbaGrass mats would be the perfect solution. We also offered our RubbaGrass outdoor walkway matting in green to help to it blend in with the grass. We felt that this was important in order to preserve the natural beauty of the area.
The RubbaGrass Difference
Our RubbaGrass outdoor walkway matting is the only product which can promote healthy grass growth while reinforcing the soil below. The simplicity of our product enables virtually anyone to install the matting in a matter of minutes. As you can see from the picture above, the ground was very uneven. The flexibility of RubbaGrass enables it to follow the natural contours of the ground in order to create a more natural walking surface. It is also perfect for use in applications which receive heave foot traffic as the rubber matting can compress and stretch to preserve it’s original shape.
